The Healing of Sound

  1. Bravo, RWY! Great interview!

Since you've posted about music, I wanted to ask about films. What is your opinion on films that are not critically acclaimed? I feel they are no use and should never be released and was wondering if you shared my viewpoint.

  2. Thanks, John! I used to watch movies all the time, but some years ago stopped going as much because so many of them were so poorly written/directed they were tough to sit through.

However, some of the movies I love to watch the most are the ones that have been panned by critics. Loved Cable Guy - critics hated it. Loved Joe Versus the Volcano (goofy movies crack me up!) - totally panned by critics.

Eat Pray Love - not sure what the critics say, but I know it was a huge hit. I'd rather gouge my eyeballs out than sit through that drivel. I watched a scene or two and was so sad people like it, but whatevs, to each his own ...

Sometimes the movies critics like are kind of obnoxious to me. Didn't they nominate Pretty Woman for an Oscar? Julia Roberts again ...what were they thinking?

Romy and Michele's High School Reunion - hilarious, although probably not critically acclaimed ...I'm more into documentaries than movies these days. Mat Damon has one on HBO about the financial crisis that's really good. Also "A Small Act" which I filmed a video about here, was fantastic!

Just as I'm more into docs now than films, I'm more into nonfiction than fiction lately - a complete reversal from my tastes when I was younger. But, how different are they really? As they say, truth is fiction and fiction is truth.

Thanks for checking out my blog - more to come!
