When Do We Trust?

This morning my alarm went off at 5 am and I was going to sleep for another five minutes, but when I next opened my eyes, it was 5:30!

In that time, I had a vivid dream that I remember still.

It was a holiday. Christmas I think. But it was warm and somewhere vacationy and tropical.

I was going to go for a run across a bridge that spanned a lovely aquamarine-blue ocean. But the bridge was closed.

I remembered a cove in this location and figured it would be closed as well. But it was open.

The cove was a large, deep pool, filled with the same aquamarine water.

There was a tall man there and my dad was there.

A black and white cat went into the water, so I went in after him.

The cat tried to swim but couldn't and started to sink. I went under the clear water and saw the cat slowly sinking.

I grabbed the cat and brought him to the surface, but because the water level was high, I had to tread water, and I knew I wouldn't be able to get the cat to safety.

The cat fell into the water again. Again I went under and brought the cat back up to the surface.

Then I had to leave. I looked at the tall man, who easily stood in the water, hoping he would get the cat to safety.

He let me know he would, but I was worried he wasn't serious.

I walked out of the pool and looked back.

The man was carrying the cat to safety.

I think it means I can (maybe, sometimes ...) trust people to do the right thing.

What do you think?
