Open Up

In my meditation this morning, I saw myself fly off the top of a mountain and become a sparse cloud in the sky.

The cloud came together and became dark.

It got heavy. Too heavy. It opened up and melted into thick rain that poured to the earth.

The ground became soaked with the heavy water.

And then beautiful red flowers grew.

  1. How beautifully poetic. So simple in structure, yet so powerful and motivating.

    Made me think of this:

    There is a curious paradox
    That no one can explain
    Who understands the secret
Of the reaping of the grain?

Who understands why Spring is born
    Out of Winter's laboring pain?
Or why we mus all die a bit
    Before we grow again

  2. It's true - we can't transform into more compassionate human beings without experiencing suffering, just as the earth can't have spring without winter. Life is definitely challenging ...thanks for the great comment!
